Footballer from Sopore qualifies Athletics Federation of India’s FSTO exam

Sopore: Feroz Ahmad Paray – a household name in Sopore – has been selected as a National Technical Official for Khelo India Youth Games-2022 scheduled to be held in Haryana.

Paray, who hails from Noorbagh area of the main town Sopore secured 19th rank in the Athletics Federation of India’s Federation State Technical Official (FSTO) Examination.

Besides football, Paray has also participated in rock climbing, mountaineering, snow skiing and white-water rafting and has also played 4th Air India Cup 2007 in Water Sports in Himachal.

Paray represented J&K and local football clubs many times at the National level and he spends his free time brushing up on the skills of young players.

When asked about his future plans, Paray said that he is looking forward to opening his own training institute where he’ll train youngsters and provide them a platform to shine.

“The world is vast, and so are the opportunities in different games. We will train the local players and improve their professional skills,” he said.

Interestingly, Paray is a Physical Education teacher and holds a master’s degree in Physical Education from Nagpur University.
