Samba villages with no proper road connectivity, basic amenities: Manjit Singh

SAMBA: Apni Party Provincial President Jammu Manjit Singh today expressed concern over poor basic amenities and slow pace of developmental activities in villages of Samba District.

Addressing a public meeting here, Manjit Singh said that the developmental activities have almost stopped in the villages and the public demands are not being addressed by the authorities in the field departments.

“The the far-flung areas have neither road connectivity nor any other basic amenities,” he said and added that the water and electricity facilities are adequately not available in many villages.

He also questioned the authorities for poor health care facilities in the villages.

The people in poor financial condition as well as there is no development in the ground, he said.

“This is happening because there is no elected Govt in J&K. It becomes imperative for the Govt to hold assembly elections and restore the statehood,” he said.

He said that the administration has no connection with the general public and hence, the people have developed a feeling of alienation due to the poor delivery system.

“The authorities have not fulfilled what was promised to them with regard to the development. The failure can be gauged from the fact that even the back to village programmes works could not be implemented on the ground which has further led to alienation of the people with the administration,” he added.
