J&K reports 230 COVID cases, no virus-related death

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 230 new positive cases of novel coronavirus while no fresh virus-related death was reported in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said of the fresh cases 126 were reported from Jammu division and 104 from the Kashmir division — taking the total number of positive cases recorded thus far in Jammu and Kashmir to 4,51,560.

Moreover, 827 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 471 from Kashmir and 356 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours, they said.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 28,846 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered so far across J&K to 2,12,28,495.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,51,560 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 3,683 active positive cases across J&K including 2,062 in Kashmir and 1,621 in Jammu division, while as  4,43,132 persons have recovered and 4,745 have died – 2,422 in Kashmir and 2,323 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin said that Srinagar reported 50 cases, Baramulla reported eight cases, Budgam 14 cases, Pulwama three cases, Kupwara 18 cases, Anantnag three cases, Bandipora five cases, and Ganderbal reported two cases.

No new case was registered in Kulgam and Shopian districts, it said.
