J&K records 60 COVID-19 deaths, 4,788 fresh cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 1,429 fresh cases of COVID-19 and three fresh virus-related deaths on Friday, officials said.

Of the fresh cases, 822 were reported from Kashmir and 607 from the Jammu division, the officials said.

Srinagar district recorded the highest of 266 cases, followed by 228 cases in Jammu district, they added.

Of the three COVID deaths, two were reported from Kashmir and one from the Jammu division, officials said.

They also said 4,057 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 2,620 from Kashmir division and 1,437 from Jammu division in the last 24 hours.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 48,961 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 2,06,82,329.

According to the bulletin, out of 4,43,891 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 24,080 active positive cases across UT including 17,229 in Kashmir and 6,851 in Jammu division, while as 4,15,109 persons have recovered and 4,702 have died – 2,402 in Kashmir and 2,300 in Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for positive cases reported today, the bulletin informed that Baramulla reported 108 cases, Budgam 86 cases, Pulwama 34 cases, Kupwara 55 cases, Anantnag 64 cases, Bandipora 47 cases, Ganderbal 45 cases, Kulgam 96 cases while as Shopian reported 21 fresh cases today.

In Jammu division, Reasi reported 23 cases, Udhampur 53 cases, Rajouri 12 cases, Doda 135 cases, Kathua 60 cases, Samba 04 cases, Poonch 19 cases, Kishtwar 47 cases and Ramban reported 26 fresh cases, added the bulletin.
