3 persons killed in two separate road accidents
Srinagar: A biker was killed and two of his brothers injured after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a tipper in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday morning, while as a minor boy was mowed down by a car in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district in the afternoon.
Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that the bike (DL9S-AA3391) collided with the tipper (JK04A-5847) Chatabal area of Kulgam. In the accident, the biker Altaf Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Rasool, resident of Mirhama, died on the spot while his two brothers identified as Sameer Ahmed and Kifayat Sheikh were injured.
The injured duo was taken to hospital for treatment while a case has been registered even as the tipper driver has been detained, an official said.
News agency GNS quoted officials as saying that four-years-old Arafath Ahmad Ahanger, son of Jaffar Ahmad Ahanger, was hit by the car (JK01M 9404) resulting in his on-the-spot death in Gutlipora area of Kupwara.
A police official confirming the incident said that the driver of the car managed to flee from the spot.
