Sopore Media Association elects new president

Sopore: The Sopore Media Association on Sunday elected its new president.

The ballot-based polls and nomination process for the posts of president started at 12 o’clock and continued till 2 pm at Dak Bungalow Sopore.

After due processes, Showket Mohi u Din Lone @Shah Ji was elected as the president. The election process and declaration of results were conducted and observed by senior journalists of north Kashmir and administrative officials. The entire process was held under the supervision of Abdul Rashid Parveen.

Speaking on the occasion, Showket Lone, newly president said that journalism is a noble profession and every journalist should work honestly to make the fourth estate strong and uphold its dignity

During the process, all the working journalists of in and around Sopore were present on the occasion including Bilal Ahmed Bhat, Peerzada Tahir, Lone Mehraj, Mohammad Younis, Syed Fayaz, Peerzada Junaid, Saleem Qadri, Bilal Dar, Waris Fayaz, Kosar Arfat, Shabir Ahmed Dar, Malik Nissar, Muneeb-ul-Haq, Sheikh Tariq, Tauseef Radoo, Mohd Arif, Ghulam Hassan, Showket Shah, Mohammad Yaseen, Peerzada Waseem, Yasir Najar, Jahengir Ahmed Khan, Suhail Khan, Abu Bakar, Junaid Bhat.
