Srinagar: With 151 fresh cases, Jammu and Kashmir’s COVID-19 tally has climbed to 3,39,691, while the death toll due to the viral disease has gone up to 4,511 with one more fatality, officials said on Saturday.

Of the fresh cases, 109 were reported from Kashmir and 42 from the Jammu division of the Union Territory, they added.

Srinagar district recorded the highest number of 55 cases, followed by 17 cases each in Baramulla and Jammu districts, the officials said, adding the latest fatality was reported from Jammu division.

They said in the last 24 hours, 140 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 95 from Kashmir and 45 from Jammu division.

There are 50 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in the Union Territory, the officials said, adding that no fresh case was reported since Friday evening.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 53,799 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 1,75,61,470.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,39,691 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,458 active positive cases across the J&K including 1,097 in Kashmir and 361 in Jammu division, while as 3,33,722 persons have recovered, and 4,511 have died – 2,317 in Kashmir and 2,194 in Jammu division.
