Srinagar:  People’s Conference Sr Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today in a statement lashed out at National Conference leadership stating this Party has no moral ground to talk about Article 370.

In a statement issued here, Vakil said Omar Abdullah was born and brought up by BJP when he was playing in the lap of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government as union minister. He said since 1947 NC surrendered everything J&K had.

He said there are doubts that NC top leaders knew about Article 370 revocation much before it was abrogated. They disempowered every institution in the erstwhile state. For petty politics they are again repeating the same thing and can go to any extreme for the sake of power.”

It was NC that rigged elections which led to the eruption of militancy. “Mohd Yousuf Shah would not have become Syed Salahuddin had NC not rigged elections. The ikhwan is the product of NC,” Vakil added.

He said from the time to time NC facilitated the dilution of Article 370 and handed over internal autonomy of J&K to Govt of India. Vakil said neither Omar nor his father Farooq Abdullah has any moral right to talk and blame others for any harm done to  J&K.

“For the sake of power NC played politics, spoke dual language. And they continue to do the same,” Vakil added.
