Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday reported 192 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), taking the cumulative total of positive cases to 3,38,390.

Of the fresh cases, officials said, 134 were reported from Kashmir and 58 from Jammu division.

Officials also said 135 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in the last 24 hours, including 109 from Kashmir and 26 from Jammu division.

No new case of Mucormycosis (black fungus) was reported today, they said.

On vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 59,348doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K so far to 1,71,49,769.

According to the bulletin, out of 3,38,390 positive cases recorded cumulatively so far, currently there are 1,696 active positive cases across J&K, including 1,206 in Kashmir and 490 in Jammu division, while as 3,32,205 persons have recovered and 4,489 have died – 2,300 in Kashmir  and 2,189 in Jammu division.

India records 9,419 fresh Covid infections, active cases increase to 94,742

New Delhi: (PTI) With 9,419 more people testing positive for Covid in a day, India’s infection tally rose to 3,46,66,241, while the active cases increased to 94,742, according to the Union Health Ministry’s data updated on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 4,74,111 after 159 fresh fatalities were reported, the data updated at 8 am showed.

The daily rise in new coronavirus infections has been recorded below 10,000 for 13 straight days and less than 50,000 for 165 consecutive days now.

The active cases have increased to 94,742 comprising 0.27 percent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.36 percent, the highest since March 2020, the Health Ministry said.

An increase of 1,009 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.73 percent. It has been less than two percent for the last 66 days.

The weekly positivity rate was also recorded at 0.74 percent. It has been below one percent for the last 25 days, according to the ministry.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,40,97,388, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.37 percent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive has exceeded 130.39 crore.
