Events like these give the budding players an opportunity to showcase their skills and get selected for higher levels. The theme of this year’s event was “Fight against Drugs”. Sports events help the youth to stay away from the evil vices of society and help in channeling their energy in the right direction.

Col HA Waknis, Commanding Officer of Uplona Rashtriya Rifles, Youth committee members of the area, Sports committee members of the area and sarpanches of the nearby villages honoured the event with their presence. “People of the area have shown great enthusiasm and support in the conduct of the event. Everyone feels that such efforts to take the youth onboard pay rich dividends in the greater interest of the future of Kashmir. Indian Army would like to thank all who have been closely associated with the successful conduct of the event. More such events will be held very soon,” he said.
