Baseer Khan finalizes I-Day arrangements at Sanat Ghar, other offices

Meets deputations, individuals at Civil Secretariat

Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired a meeting of officers of various departments coming under the domain of Industries to finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Independence day-2021 celebrations at Sanat Ghar and other offices.

The meeting was attended by officers from Khadi and Village Industries Board, JK Trade Promotion Organization, Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation, Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Industries and Commerce, JK Minerals, JK Industries and other concerned.

The meeting held threadbare discussions on arrangements to be put in place at several locations and the activities to be organized on the Independence Day.

KVIB has been designated as the nodal agency to organize the event and the main function will be held at Sanat Ghar.

During the meeting, the Advisor emphasized upon all the officers for smooth and successful conduct of I-Day celebrations and said that grand celebrations should be conducted by the industrial sector. He directed the concerned departments to work in close coordination and cohesion in order and have Independence Day celebrations function conducted on a grand scale.

Advisor was briefed about the plan of activities that will be organized on the 15th August which includes felicitation of artisans, unit holders, veer naari, ex-servicemen besides other events.

Advisor further impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure compliance of appropriate Covid behavior and implementation of SOPs regarding Covid-19 and directed to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation at the venues.

Meanwhile, several deputations and individuals today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmad Khan, at Civil Secretariat here and apprised him of their grievances and demands.

The delegations raised various issues of public importance of their respective localities and sought the intervention of the Advisor in this regard.

A delegation from Kanihama raised the issue of upgradation of roads in their locality, besides augmentation of other public care facilities.

Another delegation from Chukar village Baramulla complained about the problems being faced by them at the recently established Easy Banking Unit in their village.

Similarly, another delegation from Pulwama also met the Advisor and raised several issues of public importance.

Likewise, several delegations and individuals from Srinagar and other areas also called on Advisor and raised their matters pertaining to various departments like PDD, Rural Development, Tourism and other departments

Advisor gave patient hearing to all the delegations and individuals and assured an early redressal of their genuine demands and issues. He said that the issues projected by them would be taken up with the concerned departments for immediate redressal. In some cases, Advisor gave on spot instructions to the concerned officers for redressal of the grievances.
