DDC Chairperson Gbl inaugurates T20 cricket tournament

Ganderbal: In order to provide a platform to the youth and channelize their energy in a positive manner, a T20 cricket tournament was inaugurated by DDC Chairperson Ganderbal Nuzhat Ishfaq at Dedrambagh area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

Nuzhat Ishfaq while interacting with the participants emphasized upon the youth to take part in games and sports besides encouraging others to follow the same.

She also said that the objective of organizing this tournament is to explore the hidden talent of budding youth besides giving them opportunity to improve and hone up their skills. At the same time, she said that sports will keep them away from drug abuse and other social evils.

On the occasion, she said that sports infrastructure is being upgraded in every village be it Beehama, Batwina, Wakura, Lar or any other ground, she said.

“Further efforts are being made to deliver sports facilities at Panchayat levels,” she added.

DDC Chairperson also assured financial and moral support in organizing similar events regularly.

Those present at the occasion also included Municipal Council Chairman Ganderbal Advocate Altaf, officials from Revenue and DYSS department, among others.
