Jammu: Taking a dig at BJP’s Jammu Unit, Apni Party, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra accused BJP leaders of playing with the sentiments of Dogras as they failed to declare September 23rd as State holiday on the Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh.

Addressing a joining programme organized at ward number 5, Talab Khitakan, Mohalla Dalpatian, Malhotra said that even after coming to power with PDP in last assembly elections of erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, they could not declare the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh as State Holiday.

“They have played with the sentiments of Dogras and compromised what was promised to the people of Jammu. The BJP has been exposed for its misdeeds and falsehood,” he said.

He said that when they were ruling directly in J&K, they did nothing for Dogras, their heritage and culture.

“The attempt to convert a portion of historic Mubarak Mandi Palace into a Hotel is highly objectionable and it would be a disaster for BJP if it plays with the sentiments of Dogras,” said Vikram Malhotra.

He said that if the heritage site is converted into a hotel it will attract widespread condemnation and opposition from the heart of Jammu City.

“The BJP which is indirectly ruling J&K should desist from playing with the sentiments of the people. We are with the people and will not tolerate any attempt to convert a heritage into a hotel,” he warned.

He said that the people will resist the move strongly and the Government should review its decision.

On this occasion, Raj Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Sanjeev Kumar, Rohan Luthra, Romesh Choudhary, Rajesh Sharma, Rani Devi, Pretty Mattoo, Shami Sotra and others joined the Apni Party in presence of Vikram Malhotra.
