Srinagar: A 14-year-old girl drowned in Vishev stream in Reshnagri area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday morning.
According to news agency GNS, Mafrosha Mushtaq, daughter of Mushtaq Ahmad, slipped into the water- body, following which efforts were made to rescue her.
Following retrieval, the girl was removed to a nearby health facility in unconscious condition, however she was declared as brought dead by the doctors there.
A police official concerned confirming the incident said that the body of the girl has been handed over to her family after necessary medico-legal formalities.
