Srinagar: Two persons died in two different road accidents in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

A motorcyclist died while as his pillion rider was injured in a road accident near Aharbal area of Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district on Monday afternoon.

Quoting a police official, news agency KNO reported that the bike rider Suhaib Ahmad Magray, son of late Javid Ahmad Magray, and his pillion rider Sahil Iqbal Magray, son of Mohammad Iqbal Magray of Watoo were injured after head-on collision with a vehicle near Aharbal.

Both the injured were rushed to a nearby healthcare facility, where Suhaib succumbed to his injuries, the official said.

He said the condition of Sahil is critical at the hospital.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up, he added.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old mentally unsound man was killed in a road accident at Ashmuji in Kulgam district on Monday afternoon.

An official said that the man was hit by a dumper vehicle near Mirpora Ashmuji and he was immediately rushed to the District Hospital Kulgam for treatment, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The deceased was identified as Rayees Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Ghani Bhat, a resident of Mirpora Ashmuji.

The official said that a case has been registered in this regard.
