Bear tranquilized after injuring two persons in Tangmarg

Uri: A nomad was critically injured when a bear attacked him in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district Monday afternoon.

Official sources said that the nomad hailing from Poonch was attacked by a black bear in Shaladajan forest of Nowshera village in Boniyar area of Uri.

Officials identified injured as Mohammad Mumtaz, son of Babu Kiler.

Police said that a medical team was immediately rushed to spot and the injured person was given first-aid and later he was shifted to government Medical College Baramulla for advanced treatment.

Range officer wildlife Baramulla Altaf Koul said a team will be rushed to the spot to assess the situation.
