Jammu: The Kishtwar-Sinthan road, connecting Kishtwar in Jammu region with south Kashmir’s Anantnag, was reopened for medical emergencies, officials said on Sunday.
Kishtwar Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Sharma ordered that only the vehicles carrying the patients for medical-related emergencies would be allowed to move towards Srinagar and vice versa through Kishtwar- Sinthan route, the officials said.
Quoting the order, they said timing of the movement of permitted vehicles would be from 10 am to 4 pm only.
The Sinthan top and adjoining areas attracts heavy snowfall during winter as a result of which the road annually remains closed for five to six months from December.
