Pulwama: At least three youth from Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district have been slapped with Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in stone-pelting during the gunfight in the area in April, 2021, an official said.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the trio identified as Sameer Mushtaq Lone, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Mudasir Ahmad Lone, son of Noor Muhammad Lone and Sameer Ahmed Lone, son of Bashir Ahmed Lone of—all residents of Kakapora Pulwama and have been shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jammu.

He added that the trio was already under police custody and were slapped with PSA only after their involvement in stone-pelting was verified.

Notably, three Al-Badr militants were killed in Kakapora Pulwama on April 02 this year. After the gunfight, stone-pelting incident took place in the area in which a few civilians were also injured following which several youth were arrested. (KNO)
