Hajin: A 32-year-old man on Wednesday jumped into river Jhelum in Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district even as the authorities launched a search and rescue operation.

An official told Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that Mohammad Ashraf Dar son Abdul Aziz Dar (32) of Banger Mohallah Hajin jumped into river Jehlum at Hajin Ghat.

He said that following the incident, a rescue team including Hajin police immediately rushed to the spot and launched searches.

As per the official, the search operation to trace the man in the area was going on. (KNO)
