Now fly directly to mesmerising Leh! IndiGo starts direct flights from Delhi-Leh

New Delhi: In a major development, IndiGo — India’s low-cost airline — Monday announced that the much-awaited direct flights from Delhi to Leh and back have started operating from Monday onwards.

The first flight was operated by Senior Captain Sanjeev Sharma and Senior Capt Amit Kapoor who were accompanied by Senior Vice President (SVP), Capt Ashim Mittra and Senior Capt Rajiv Battish.

“This initiative will not only ease the air transportation problems facing by the borderly located UT of India but will also help to boost the local economy as well as strengthen border security in long run,” tweeted Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.

In a tweet, IndiGo said: “Now flying you directly to one of the top vacation destinations of everyone’s bucket list – the mesmerising Leh! #IndiGoToLeh #LetsIndiGo #Aviation #Travel.”
