R-Day arrangements reviewed at Kulgam, Ganderbal

Kulgam, Ganderbal: : District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review arrangements put in place for celebration of National event in the district.

The meeting discussed threadbare arrangements including security, seating arrangement as per Covid protocol, car parking, transportation, illumination of buildings, refreshments, accommodation, sanitation and other arrangements.

It was informed that the national flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the parade comprising the contingents from JKP, CRPF, NCC cadets and other contingents.

`The DDC issued instructions to all concerned departments to induce advance arrangements for smooth conduct of the function across the district with strict adherence to COVID-19 SOPs at all levels.

Concerned departments were directed to make proper arrangements for trouble free rehearsals and final day celebration.

ADDC, Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, A-SP, Mohammad Yousuf, ADC, ACD, Dy-SP-DAR ,Commandant CRPF- 18th BTN, Dy- CEO, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited Qamaria ground Ganderbal to have firsthand appraisal of the arrangements being put in place by the concerned departments for the National Event.

On the occasion, the DC inspected the ongoing snow clearance progress on the ground and other related preparations.

The executive Engineer R&B informed the DC that snow clearance operation is in full swing besides other preparations are also going on.

The DC directed him to expedite the snow clearance on the ground so that other arrangements are also put in place accordingly.

Meanwhile, DC also reviewed the arrangements of water supply, electricity, security and other related arrangements at the venue.

The DC stressed all officers to put in place all necessary arrangements well in time so that the Republic Day function is held in a smooth and successful manner.

Among others, SSP Ganderbal, Khalil Poswal, ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, Executive Engineer R&B and other concerned accompanied the DC.
