Srinagar: The Kashmir Press Club (KPC) has expressed concern over the incident that took place during Jashn-e-Baramulla function on Friday and called for a probe into the matter.

In a statement issued here, a spokesperson of KPC said: “The club received several calls from the anguished local journalists who said that some scribes were thrashed by soldiers while covering the Jashn-e-Baramulla function, organised by the Army, wherein Bollywood actor Amisha Patel was the chief guest.”

“According to the journalists, the incident took place without any provocation when they were trying to get a sound bite of the Bollywood actress on the sidelines of the function,” the spokesperson said.

“The club terms the incident very unfortunate and urges the Army to look into the matter and take stern action against those found guilty,” he said.
