Atal Dulloo takes stock of ongoing works at IGGDC Jammu

JAMMU: Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, Atal Dulloo today visited Indira Gandhi Govt Dental College and Hospital (IGGDC) Ambphalla here and took stock of ongoing construction and other works there.

He was accompanied by Principal GMC Jammu, Principal IGGDC Jammu, Medical Superintendent Dental College and other concerned.

During the visit, the Financial Commissioner took a detailed round of the complex and inspected all the ongoing infrastructural works  besides other allied infrastructure.

He was informed that the finishing works at the hospital are going on and are at the final stage of completion.

He visited various sections of the new building where he was briefed about the status of the ongoing works and would be facilities available for both the patients and the staff.

He was informed that the new block would house the departments of Oral medicine and Radiology, Oral Surgery and Maxiofacial Surgery, Periodontics, Conservation Dentistry and Orthodontics.

On the occasion, Dulloo directed the concerned executing agency to expedite the pace of works at the new block of the hospital and finish the remaining works within stipulated time frame so that the new block would be dedicated to the people for the service delivery.

Earlier, the Financial Commissioner chaired a meeting to discuss the various issues pertaining to the functioning of IGGDC and the progress of the construction works of the new block.

The meeting was attended by Managing Director JKPCC, Principal GMC Jammu, Principal IGGDC Jammu, Director General (Planning) Health and Medical Education, MD JKMSCL and other concerned.

He was informed that most of the works have been completed and the remaining works would be finished very soon.

He directed the concerned construction agency to expedite the construction process and asked them to build ramps for specially-abled persons and other connecting bridges between different blocks.

The meeting also discussed the filling up of various vacant posts  besides it also discussed the handingover of JK Medical Supplies Corporation Limited (JKMSCL) premises and subsequent DPR of the building. During the meeting, the FC enquired about the timely procurement and supply of essential drugs and equipments.
