JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed the physical and financial progress on mega projects which include AIIMS Samba, Boundary wall and alternate road to IIM, 100 bedded hospital at Kot Bhalwal, and Government Ayurvedic Medical College cum Hospital at Akhnoor.

Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), Ashok Kikroo; Project Engineer, IIM Rakesh Shami; Superintendent Engineer, JKPCC, Har Kewal Singh; EE&SMC CPWD, Jammu, Gurvinder Singh; Executive Engineer, R&B, Rajesh Kumar Bhagat; Assistant Executive Engineer, J&K Housing Board, Deepak Digra and Executive Engineer PSM, AIIMS CPWD. Hukmi Chand and other concerned officers attended the meeting.

The R&B Chief Engineer gave a brief about the progress on construction work on the 5.65 Kilometer long precast panel compound wall at permanent campus of IIM Jammu at Jagti Nagrota. It consists of a precast panel concrete wall of 4.34 Kilometer and chain link fencing of 1.30 Kilometer. The project costing Rs. 17.78 crore is targeted to be completed by  January 31, 2021. At present 2.0 Kilo meter boundary wall is complete and the construction work of remaining length is also completed upto plinth level/column level.

The progress of the work is in full swing post covid lockdown and from 1st September to 20th October, 2020, around 820 meter length of precast panelled wall and 200 meter length of chainlink fencing was completed. the total achievement of work is 70 percent completed physically till date.  He said that the works are being monitored regularly and stress is being laid on their timely completion the projects.

The Divisional Commissioner stressed the need for close monitoring and coordination among government departments and executing agencies for the timely completion of development projects. He called for adhering to all parameters of architectural values use of construction material. He laid special emphasis on regular monitoring and ensuring quality of works.

The  Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the physical status of construction of 100 bedded hospital Kot Bhalwal, Jammu and Government Ayurvedic College cum Hospital at Akhnoor. He called upon the concerned officers to speed up the progress and complete the projects in the stipulated time frame.

The concerned officer gave a detailed overview of the projects and informed that the work is almost 90 percent complete . The estimated cost of the 100 bedded hospital is Rs. 21.46 crore, while the Government Ayurvedic College cum Hospital is coming up at a cost of Rs. 25.80 crore.
