Family urges missing Bandipora youth to return home

Bandipora: The family members of a 28-year-old youth, who is missing from his home in Bagh locality of north Kashmir’s Bandipora since June 19, on Monday appealed him to return home.

The youth identified as Azad Ahmad Shah (28), son of Mohammad Yousuf Shah, a resident of Bagh locality of Bandipora left his home on June 19 and has been missing ever since.

According to the family members, Azad has completed his Masters in Computer Application (MCA) from Srinagar and after that he was running a computer institute at Ajas area of Bandipora.

Talking to the news agency – KNO, the family members of the missing youth said that ever since Azad went missing, they have searched him everywhere but in vain.

“Although we also contacted his friends and relatives, we haven’t found him anywhere,” they said.

“My brother left home in the evening for some work but didn’t return till late evening. Later, his phone was also switched off and he hasn’t returned home since then,” said Azad’s brother, Tariq Ahmad Shah.

He said that “we don’t know anything about him whether he has joined any militant group or not but he must return home for the sake of his parents.”

The family has lodged a missing report in Police Station Bandipora on 24 June.

The family members urged Azad to return home as all their hopes have been dashed ever since he has gone missing.

“We are worried since he disappeared from the home. His mother has been crying ever since,” said Azad’s father, Mohammad Yousuf, while appealing to his son to return home.

The family members including his married sister have also released a video on social media urging Azad to return home.

“My brother, I beg you, please come back wherever you are. For the sake of God, please don’t leave us like this please return home as soon as possible, we cannot live without you,” Azad’s sister could be seen pleading in the video which has gone viral on social media.
