Srinagar: One militant as well as an army soldier have been killed in ongoing encounter in Gusso area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.

Official sources told GNS that in an ongoing firefight one unidentified militant have been killed.

Meanwhile Army soldier and cop of J&K Police were also injured in early exchange of firing.

Both army trooper and cop were shifted to hospital, where Army soldier succumbed to his injury.

Pertinently, 123 militants have been killed so far this year in the Valley.

Earlier According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 53RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Gusso.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
