Mattan: A 19-year old youth drowned while taking bath in a river at Ranipora village of Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday afternoon, sources in police said.
Sources identified the deceased as Rahil Ahmad Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh of Ranipora Mattan.
According to eyewitnesses, Rahil was rescued by locals and rushed to PHC Ranipora in an unconscious state.
However, he was declared brought dead by the doctors, sources added.
