Of an Unjust Democracy and Eunuch Alphas

Ideologies change. Should democracy have to? Living in this facade of a setup, we have completely forgotten who we, as humans, are supposed to be. This time I write not against terror or for peace but to put forth my views about the alphas of this supreme country.

Understand this fact that living beings always, mind it, always follow their Alpha. It is the most basic rule of nature. There has been appointed a ruler to govern the needs of a pack, flock, pride or a population. That Alpha is selected on the basis of strength, intellect, wisdom, and most importantly, by his sense of justice. Being the Alpha makes him the honor of the crowd. It makes him responsible for the well-being of his group. An Alpha never betrays. He never gives up on his subordinates. An Alpha protects his own.

Though many generations of Alphas have (dis)graced Kashmir yet no one has been able to stand up to the qualities of one. I don’t intend to target someone in particular. There is nothing to point out at, actually. Everyone knows. However, those who don’t should be able to at least recognize that we, Kashmiris, have been under blatant despotism for decades now. Ruling selfishly and adamant to hold the crown of an Alpha, nobody who had been appointed a ruler stood firm on those ‘printed manifestos’ or basic human ideologies. Headlines of today or yesterday are over spilling with examples of failures. Young people killed in the name of law, or free journalism curbed, makes us wonder; what went wrong? All because we are tagged as a people oppressed does not give anyone the right to treat us like animals in need to be caged. People view Kashmir in a vehemently negative frame, all because they are given a dead body to prove that. This is what becomes of a nation that has lost humanity. This is the so called ‘code’ of a democratic setup we call a country. One sect of humans are made to hate the other.

All a Kashmiri wanted was a piece of this heaven, which was his to begin with, and to be at peace. Eunuch Alphas, I say. We suffered then and we suffer now, all because of them.

This never ending hunt for peace is not going to stop unless a strong, independent nation wakes up. People all over the country need to be awakened, false ideas of democracy removed from their heads to understand one basic fact; the power to change lies within. A tomorrow is approaching, a day where a thousand suns await and bathe the sorrows of past away. This new day should first begin within you. Think and understand. And when you do, speak up. One does not always have to be a stone-pelter to make a change. I am the youth of tomorrow and so are you. If we don’t find an Alpha, we sure can be one, together, as a nation. Let there be awakening and let innocents not be thrown to the bottom of this voracious food chain.
