He visited quarantine centres in five out of seven tehsils of the district including Panthanchowk, Chanpora, Shalteng, South and Khanyar.

In his interaction with the people undergoing quarantine in these centres he sought feedback about the services to provided to them and recommendations for improvement in areas wherever required.

Dr Shahid held an extensive inspection and review of different areas of management of quarantine centres he visited. Some of the main areas of operation he inspected on the occasion ranged from food and other basic needs to sanitation to testing.

The visit to the quarantine centres follows return and shifting thereinto of J&K citizens from different parts of India after travel of stranded persons to their respective states and UTs was allowed last week.

It is notable that over 6500 persons have returned to and been shifted into quarantine centres in Srinagar this past week.

Of these over 3500 persons have been tested so far and some 1400 of them have been relieved after their tests came negative and their reports were received.
