Srinagar: Senior vice president J&K Peoples Conference and former minister Abdul Gani Vakil has expressed serious concern over the soil erosion on the banks of Nallah Pohru in Nowpora Kalan Rafiabad leaving hundreds of families at a great risk as their residential houses are near to collapse and their apple trees may also get uprooted if immediate measures are not taken to construct protection wall (retaining wall) before any catastrophe takes place.

According to a statement issued today, Vakil said, it is surprising that the people of the area are crying for the protection of the property but the administration is in deep slumber.

“Even if the district administration stands informed about this serious problem, the administration plays deaf.

Abdul Gani Vakil stressed upon the govt especially Lt Governor G.C Murmu to direct the concerned authorities to take steps on war footing basis to save the property and lives of the people as the fast degradation of banks of the Nallah Pohru may result in inundation of apple orchards and around 100 households may get collapsed .
