JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma today conducted an extensive tour of Bhagwati Nagar (Yatri Niwas) and Bahu Fort area and inspected the progress on various development works being executed there.

The Div Com was accompanied by Director, Tourism Jammu, Raj Kumar Katoch, Joint Director Tourism, Neelam Khajuria besides Executive Engineers and other concerned officers.

During the tour, he visited Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar and took stock of development works required there. The Div Com directed concerned officers to start the required repair and renovation works inside the Yatri Niwas complex to ensure its completion well before Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Meanwhile, he also visited Eco Park in the area, where he impressed upon the officers to maintain the facility properly. He directed the concerned officers for early start of the work on widening of road alongside the park, which leads to Amphitheatre. He asked for further beautification of park with development of water bodies and musical fountains.   He also stressed on for massive plantation in the area and hosting religious and cultural programs at the Amphitheatre.

Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited Bahu Fort area and inspected ongoing works there. The concerned officers apprised the Div Com about status of works being executed by their respective departments. He asked the concerned to develop green spaces along road side from Bahu gate to temple and ensure early completion of ongoing works.
