Srinagar, Feb 3 : A constable of Jammu and Kashmir Police and his brother were found dead in their room in the police complex at Zewan on the outskirts of the city on Monday, officials said.
Constable Sumeerji Koul and his physically challenged brother Veerji Koul were found dead inside the cop’s room at the Zewan police complex, the officials said.
They said proceedings under Section 174 (Police to enquire and report on suicide) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been initiated to ascertain the cause of the death of the brothers.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the duo might have died due to asphyxiation, the officials said.
