J&K Police Football Team defeated Iqbal Sports by 3:0 goals.

Srinagar: The Annual League Football Tournament is in progress both at Synthetic Turf TRC and Polo Ground West.

The matches were played on Tuesday at Synthetic Turf, TRC Srinagar.

The first match of Super Division played between Solina Sports and Saffalo Sports. Solina Sports defeated Saffaloo Sports by Two goals to Nil.

The second match of Premier Division was played between J&K Police XI and Iqbal Sports. Both the Teams played with short passes, man to man marking, Wall passing and trapping which kept the spectators spellbound. It was Deeraj Thapa of J&K Police who in the 30th minute of First half scored a goal with a delightful finish. The first half ended 1:0 in favour of J&K Police.

In the 2nd half Iqbal Sports Club kept their moral high and started attacking J&K Police Goal but could not find the net. In the 65th minute of the second half J&K Police made a dramatic move & through Faisal Rashid scored the second Goal.

In the 70th minute of 2nd half Iqbal Sports striker played a half volley short which was saved by J&K Police Goalkeeper. In the 75th Minute of 2nd half Yaseen of J&K Police attempted a free Kick which resulted in a magnificent Goal which took the Goalkeeper unawares. Thus J&K Police defeated Iqbal Sports by 3 goals to Zero

Meanwhile, three matches of Senior/Junior Division were also played at Polo Ground West. In the First match Shunglipora FC got a Walkover against NFC Peerbagh. The second match was played between Bloosom Sports Soura and Bismillah FC Noor Bagh. Both the Teams scored two goals each and the match ended in a 2:2 draw. The third match was played between Royal Sports and Lonestar U-15, which ended in a 1:1 draw.

The tournament is organized by District Football Association Srinagar.
