DC Kupwara reviews arrangements for I-Day celebration

KUPWARA, JULY 18: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of officers to review the preparedness and arrangements to be put in place by different departments for smooth celebrations of Independence Day at District Police Lines Kupwara.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Farooq Ahmad Baba briefed about the preparedness and arrangements for the programme.

It was decided that the main function will be held at DPL, Kupwara wherein the chief guest will unfurl the National flag followed by inspection of parade. There will be joint march past presented by contingents from Para-Military Forces i.e.  CRPF and District Police, IRPF, Home Guard and Forest Protection Force. Besides the Chief Education Officer, Kupwara and District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kupwara will select minimum  15  contingents of  school children from Government and  Private  Schools of the District for participating in the parade/March Past. The District Youth Service and Sports Officer will provide uniforms to children participating in the March past.

On the occasion the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara impressed upon all concerned departments to work with more zeal and dedication to make the event a grand success in the district

It was also decided that the celebration of Independence Day shall also be held at Sub-Divisional Levels, and in this regard Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Handwara and SDM Lolab/Karnah were directed to ensure celebration of the event at their respective headquarters and shall take necessary steps in order to make the Programme successful.
