Feroz Khan stresses on balanced curriculum for overall development of children

KARGIL, JULY 09: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan today stressed on a healthy balance between studies and sports for overall personality development of children.

The CEC stated this while addressing teachers and students at the concluding ceremony of the Sports Tournament cum School Marathon-Let’s play in the mountains organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Government Higher Secondary School Silmoo Kargil.

More than 300 students from different schools of Batalik area including Lhalung,  Silmoo,  Batalik,  Sanachay,  Chulichan,  Sharchay,  Gargardo,  Darchiks and Garkone participated in the two day event.

District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kargil Haji Muhammad Jaffar, Assistant Director Information Kargil Muhammad Ali Tak, Principal Government Higher Secondary School Silmoo Nawang Sharap, other concerned officers, teaching and non-teaching staff and students in large numbers were present on the occasion.

The CEC expressed optimism that the step will go a long way in giving impetus to the sporting talent of the youth.

The CEC said that LAHDC Kargil is fully committed to give impetus to the Education sector in the district and a number of concrete measures are being taken to accomplish this goal.

Feroz stated that concrete measures are being taken to rationalize the student teacher ratio in schools besides to streamline the transfer policy in Education department which would have positive results in the days to come.

The CEC while underlining the importance of community participation for effective functioning of schools urged parents and VEC members to always remain at the forefront to extend necessary support to the school authorities.

Principal Higher Secondary School Silmoo projected certain issues and demands which included requirement of funds for development of sports grounds and ice hockey rink in Batalik area, holding of zonal level tournament, provision of table tennis facilities and sports kits and other related demands to which the CEC assured of due consideration and appropriate steps.

Earlier, the CEC inaugurated 2 mobile towers of Bharti Infratel Limited at Lhalung and Lakha Silmoo. The coming up of these mobile towers in the area will provide mobile communication facilities to around 3000 people in the area.

The CEC while congratulating the people over the operationalization of the mobile towers in the area stressed on officers of Bharti Infratel Limited to provide best possible mobile and internet facilities to the people.

Meanwhile the locals expressed gratitude to the CEC Kargil for his personal efforts in ensuring the provision of mobile towers in the area. They also thanked the officers of Bharti Infratel Limited.

Circle Site Acquisition Head J&K Bharti Infratel Limited, Sarpanchs,  Panchs,  Namberdars besides local people were present on the occasion.

The locals also projected their individual and collective demands which among others included the enhancement of the coverage capacity of the mobile towers, repair and blacktopping of link road Lakha Silmoo etc.

The CEC after giving a patient hearing to all issues assured the people that all of their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner.
