DDC Baramulla reviews work on various dev projects

BARAMULLA, JULY 06: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo accompanied by Director Technical Education Ravi Shankar Sharma and other concerned officers today visited several ongoing developmental projects of the district and reviewed the pace and position of the work.

DDC visited the Polytechnic College, located in Kanispora Baramulla and took the appraisal of pace and position of its work. The college is being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 17.77 Crore and is in its final phase of completion. The college is also equipped with modern and advanced facilities which includes modern cafteria, language block and other recreational facilities.

DDC directed the concerned authorities to speed up the pace of work so that the college is completed as early as possible and is made functional for educational purposes.

Dr Itoo also visited the Indoor Sports Stadium to take stock of the pace and position of work during which he was informed that the project is being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 8 crore and is also in its final phase. DDC stressed upon mobilising additional men and machinery so that project is completed within stipulated time frame. He also reiterated the administration’s commitment of developing sports infrastructure so that the potential of our youth is channelised in a positive way.

Later, the DDC distributed cheques of Rs 50,000 each among 5 poor and destitute students who are currently pursuing professional and technical education.
