WPL: Javaid’s 4-Fer help ‘Rising Star Sopore’ register scintillating win

Sopore, June 19: In the ongoing Wular Premier League (WPL) being played at lush green Sheikhul Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore, Rising Star Sopore registered a scintillating win against Srinagar Gymkhna on Wednesday.

Bating first, Rising Star Sopore limped to a score of 109 runs for the loss of all wickets. Sheeraz was the top scorer for Rising Star with 19 runs.

For Srinagar Gymkhna, Nadeem took 4-fer and Adnan took brace. Chasing the victory target of 110 runs, Srinagar Gymkhana lost earlier wickets. Sajad and Imtiyaz played well and took the score to 90 after their dismissal Srinagar Gymkhana never came back into the game.

Javaid Ahmad of Rising Star wreaked havoc and dismissed the last two batsmen without scoring a single run.

Javaid Ahmad was declared man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance of 4-fer.

Respected citizens of the area were present at the closing ceremony who distributed the man of the match award.
