ATMA, SKCS, BAA condemn “police high handedness”
Anantnag: All Traders and Manufacturers Association Anantnag (ATMA), South Kashmir Civil Society (SKCS), Bar Association Anantnag (BAA), besides several members of Auqaf Committees in a joint meeting condemned, what they termed, high handedness of police.
The participants in the meeting alleged that S.H.O Sadder Anantnag, on the night of Lailat-ul-Qadr fired teargas shells indiscriminately at the places of worship which include Jamia Masjid Hanfia Reshi Bazar, Jamia Masjid Ahle-e-Hadees Sherbagh, Masjid Sharief Mattan Chowk, Masjid Sharief Kadipora, Masjid Sharief Rahat Didi, Masjid Sharief Dnagerpora and several others.
In the meeting it was pressed upon district administration to remove S.H.O Sadder Anantnag with immediate effect to give solace to all the locales of the town.
Furthermore, the meeting appealed the authorities to release all the youth and children on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
In the meeting a Joint Action Committee (JAC) Anantnag was formulated to address such issues in future.
