Srinagar, May 13: Hurriyat-M chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq while condemning the rape of a minor girl in Bandipora on Monday appealed people to maintain unity and vigil.
“Fervent Appeal to all peple of Kashmir to maintain unity and vigil especially in view of mischievous forces waiting to create a sectarian divide out of this most reprehensible crime against a child which is indeed a crime against all humanity. All of Kashmir stands in unison (sic),” Mirwaiz tweeted.
A three-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on May 08. The accused has been arrested by the police.
The incident has sparked outrage in Kashmir with people demanding speedy probe into the case.
