New Delhi, May 7: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir held a detailed meeting with the varsity’s Chancellor, Lt. General Syed Ata Hasnain, Former, Military Secretary, here on Monday.

Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir discussed several important matters with Chancellor and gave a detailed background about the overall development of the University. He apprised him about the shifting of majority of the Departments to Ganderbal and assured him that the remaining departments shall be shifted very soon. VC also apprised the Chancellor about the support extended by the Civil Administration, both at the State and District level.

Chancellor, Lt. General Syed Ata Hasnain maintained that the University must develop linkages with the society at large and industry as well. He pointed out that he shall be visiting the university campus very shortly to have an interaction with the students, faculty and other stakeholders.

He assured the VC that he will extend every possible support to the university to see that it flourishes to carve a space at both the national and international level.

Later, in the evening Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Deputy Secretary, B.B. Bhagat and Joint Secretary MHRD.

The MoU has been signed to assess and facilitate the performance of the university on selected key parameters against the targets set in order to further improve the performance of the varsity.
