Kupwara: Two army soldiers were injured when a land mine they stepped on went off at Khanthawala forest near LoC in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.
A top police official said that two army soldiers of 2/8 GR sustained grievous injuries in their legs at Khanthawali Post area along the Line of Control in the land mine explosion.
“The explosion took place when one among the injured soldiers stepped over the land mine planted in the area,” they said.
A police officer while confirming the incident said that both the injured were taken to nearby health facility where from they have been shifted to army’s 92 base hospital Badamibagh Srinagar for advanced treatment.
