Srinagar: A 54-year old man was injured after shot at by unknown gunmen at Bijbehara area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday late evening.
Reports said that unknown persons fired upon the Contractor namely Abdul Qayoom Pandit son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Pandit a resident of Bijbehara.
Sources said Pandit is affiliated with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
An official said that he has received bullet on his right leg and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Soon after the incident a joint team of army and SOG launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area to nab the assailants.
