Baramulla, Apr 04: A driver missing from his home in Mamoosa area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was found dead on Thursday, police said.
The body of Jan Muhammad, son of Muhammad Assadullah was retrieved on Thursday from a stream in Chaenbal. He was a driver by profession.
“We have retrieved the body from a stream. Apparently, it looks like a case of murder. The body bore severe head injuries,” a police official said.
Jan Muhammad, according to his family members, had gone missing on March 22 after he left his home to attend a court hearing in a civil case.
The family had staged a protest at the Press Enclave in Srinagar on March 29 to demand his whereabouts. They had sought the help of the Governor Satya Pal Malik to trace Jan Muhammad.
The family had lodged a missing report at the concerned police station on March 22.
