Ganderbal, Mar 28: Government Degree College Ganderbal today started Intra-college sports competition of calendar year 2019.
Principal of the college Professor Bashir Ahmad Parray inaugurated the Sports competitions.
On the first day competitions were conducted in Carom women, Chess man.
The men’s final in Chess was won by Tanveer Ahmad. Girl’s group carom final was won by Roohi Jan and Ikhlas Hassan.
The sport which will played in the sports competitions are Badminton, Volleyball, Tug of war, Hockey ,Football, Cricket , Pool, Table tennis, Baseball ,Rugby, Handball Carom and Chess.
Syed Anayat Hussain Physical Director of the college said that sports activities are given full attention and support in their college and they have produced top athlete who had played at national level.
Javaid Ahmad, sports coach of the college said, “Our College has got robust sports policy and we show good results .Last year we topped medals tally in Kashmir University athletic meet.”
