Officials said the achievement reflects the steady improvement in hockey in Jammu and Kashmir after the new body of Hockey J&K took charge following elections held in May 2025. They said the sport, which had earlier been witnessing a decline, has shown marked progress at the national level over the past year.

Speakers at the event congratulated the players and appreciated the efforts of the management of Hockey J&K in improving the performance of various teams.

Addressing the gathering, Rajeev Sharma said discipline and hard work are the keys to success. He advised the players to obey their coaches and strictly follow their instructions.

“Discipline and hard work always lead to success. Players must trust their coaches and remain committed to their training,” Sharma said.

He further informed that the team was also given an opportunity to visit the manufacturing plant of Tata Motors at Jamshedpur during their visit to Jharkhand.

Javed Ahmad, District Sports Officer Central of Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, and the District Sports Officer Jammu also welcomed the team and appreciated the efforts of the Hockey J&K management in raising the standard of the sport in the Union Territory.
