Awareness program under Poshan Abhiyaan Pakhwada organized in B’la
Baramulla, March 24: A mega awareness camp under Poshan Abhiyaan Pakhwada was organized by Child Development Project Office (CDPO) under Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) Narwavh under at Ushkura Baramulla.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, was the chief guest on the occasion, while as CDPO Narwavh Razia Bhat and other officials of the department were present; besides, large number of children, Aganwardi Workers, ASHAs, doctors and elderly women participated in the awareness program.
The awareness program was aimed at spreading messages about healthy habits, importance of health, and immunization of children, among the community.
“The programme is aimed at addressing the problem of malnutrition among children, adolescent girls and women. We involved all the Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, officials of Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS), health and education to bring awareness among the masses about the ill-effects of malnutrition,” said CDPO Narwah Razia Bhat.
She added that Poshan Abhiyaan has direct and targeted interventions to address the problem of malnutrition in the State. All these schemes address one or other aspects related to nutrition and have the potential to improve nutritional outcomes in the State.
CMO Baramulla Dr. Chalkoo underlined the importance the scheme in improving the nutritional indicators of women and children and stressed on the officers to leave no stone unturned to make the district malnutrition free.
