SRINAGAR, MARCH 23: Director Information and Public Relations, Gulzar Ahmad Dar today reviewed the functioning of the District Information Centres of Kashmir division at a meeting convened at the Media Complex here today.
Joint Director Information (Kashmir), Abid Hussain, Assistant Director/Field Publicity Officer, Srinagar Mohammad Aslam Khan, Assistant Director (Advt.) Kashmir Shakeela Shawl, District Information Officers of Kashmir Division and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
The Director Information took detailed briefing from the DIOs regarding the functioning of DICs, status of infrastructure and human resource requirements. He called for ensuring punctuality of staff, timely dissemination of press releases, and close liaisoning with the District Election Officers/district administration. He directed to be more vigilant and active while attending the election related activities and timely reporting of election related news. He issued specific instructions for improving the functioning of Election Media Centers in all the districts during the Lok Sabha elections.
The Director gave a series of directions on how to further improve the functioning of the District Information Centres to act as an effective interface between the Government and the people.
On the occasion, DIOs informed about various issues and problems faced by the District Information Centers in carrying out their professional duties.
