In this regard, an emergency meeting was convened today by the Divisional Commissioner with the Chemists & Druggists Association, Kashmir to evaluate the position about the availability of drugs and medicines, including Insulin and other Life Saving Drugs in the valley.

As per the feedback given by the Association, there is absolutely no dearth of medicine in the Valley especially Insulin and other Life Saving Drugs.

It was intimated by the Association that available stocks of Insulin and other emergency drugs are sufficient to last for more than a month. Besides, they have also intimated that most of the drugs come by air from the principal suppliers and ventilation of such concern by certain section of Press is not based on facts.

The Divisional Commissioner directed them to keep the Div Com abreast with the situation on periodical basis.

Meanwhile, as per the information collected from various hospitals, the Divisional Commissioner reiterated that there is no shortage of medicines and the stocks are sufficient to cater to the requirement across the Kashmir valley.
