JAMMU, FEBRUARY 11: Advisor to Governor, K Vijay Kumar today visited Jagti in Nagrota and inspected Government Hospital established at the township. He also took stock of health facilities available at the facility for the benefit of the migrant families living in the township.

Director Health Services Jammu Dr Sameer Mattoo and CMO Jammu Dr Danish Ayoub Khan were present at the hospital.

The Advisor went around all the sections and enquired from the doctors present on duty about the facilities and equipment available at the hospital.

Director Health Services Jammu briefed the Advisor about the staff strength including doctors, para-medic and others. He also gave details of health facilities which are being provided to the migrant families living at the township.

The Advisor while visiting various sections in the hospital interacted with the doctors and other staff regarding record of patients that have visited the hospital for treatment. He also asked for the patient referral mechanism adopted at the hospital.

Inspecting the laboratory facility, the Advisor sought the details of medical investigations that can be done along with the past record of the tests undertaken at the lab. Later, he inspected the drugs/medicines available at the hospital.

Keeping in view the strength of staff deputed at the hospital and building infra, the Advisor asked Director Health Services Jammu to make this facility more usable by augmenting the required infrastructure. He also stressed for effectively utilizing the services of doctors, staff posted at the health facility.

The Advisor asked CMO Jammu to organize refresher courses for all kind of technicians to upgrade their knowledge and skill in the medical field.

While enquiring about the night shift arrangements at the health facility, the Advisor directed to depute one doctor along with para-medic and other required staff during night hours so that the hospital operates 24×7 at the location.
