Mehbooba urges PDP cadre to prepare for Municipal polls, strengthen grassroots base

Srinagar: Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday chaired a meeting of Srinagar district leaders at the party headquarters and called upon party workers to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.

Addressing the meeting, Mehbooba asked party leaders and workers to intensify their outreach among the people and prepare for the forthcoming civic polls.

She stressed the need for strengthening the party structure by reaching out to the public and remaining actively engaged with local issues. The PDP president also directed party leaders to identify public grievances and take them up with the concerned authorities for timely redressal.

The meeting was attended by PDP General Secretary Khursheed Alam, former ministers Naeem Akhtar and Aasiya Naqash, former MLAs Peer Mansoor Hussain and Anjum Fazili, party spokesperson Iqbal Tramboo and District President Abdul Qayoom Bhat, besides constituency in-charges, youth leaders and zone presidents.

Among those who spoke on the occasion were Khursheed Alam, Naeem Akhtar, Aasiya Naqash, Peer Mansoor, Arif Laigroo and Abdul Qayoom Bhat. The speakers underlined the need for unity within the party and reiterated their commitment to serve the people by effectively addressing their concerns.
